Desktop provides the Kasm browser and desktop workspaces assigned to you. A workspace is a separate remote session, with its own files and application logins.
You need approved Kasm access and the application permissions for your task. Use the portal's Request access guidance if you do not have it. Open Desktop.
¶ Start and finish a workspace
- Open Desktop and complete sign-in. Find the workspace image assigned to you in the workspace list.
- Select the image and choose Launch Session when offered. Wait for startup and open the running session.
- Use the workspace normally. The session control menu provides options such as clipboard and file transfer when enabled for that workspace.
- Save or download work to a location you know is persistent. Confirm transferred files open on the destination device.
- Use the session controls to disconnect or end the session as appropriate. Read the confirmation before deleting or ending it.
Expected result: The workspace opens and your work is saved outside any disposable session before you finish.
Closing the browser tab is not proof the remote session ended. Do not use a shared workspace to retain passwords unless its ownership and persistence have been agreed.
- No workspace cards: your account may not have an image assigned even after Kasm access is approved.
- Session will not launch: note the image name and error; quotas, capacity, or an existing session may be involved.
- Files disappear after a session ends: session storage may be temporary. Ask Tyler which folders are persistent for your workspace.
¶ Next step and help
If the steps above do not resolve the problem, Contact Tyler using your existing contact details. Include the application, time, and error wording; omit passwords, tokens, and private recovery links.
